Pro Stock Motorcycle midseason review: Hines leads multi-way battle
Andrew Hines’ bid for an unprecedented fourth straight NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle world championship ended with a heartbreaking red-light in the opening round of the season-ending Pomona event last November. As painful as that loss was, it has helped to motivate the entire Screamin’ Eagle Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson team, and this year, that extra motivation has been mirrored in results, which include two wins, a runner-up, and three semifinal finishes in eight races.

Heading into the Fram Autolite NHRA Nationals in Sonoma, Hines is off to the best start of his career and is again among the favorites to claim the world championship. In this article, we take a look at the Pro Stock Motorcycle season to date.

Bartone gets first win; Schumacher, Line continue strong seasons
Tony Bartone (pictured) scored his first Pro victory in the Funny Car class to highlight the 21st annual Schuck's Auto Supply NHRA Nationals, the middle leg of NHRA's three-race Western Swing, in Seattle. Tony Schumacher kept alive his bid to become the sixth Pro driver to sweep the Swing when he won in Top Fuel, and Jason Line triumphed in Pro Stock for his second win of the season.
Points leaders maintain top positions as new challengers emerge
Tony Schumacher continued to add to his points lead in Seattle with his seventh win of the season in Top Fuel. Tim Wilkerson maintained first place in Funny Car despite a disappointing weekend but has a new second-place challenger in Tony Pedregon, and Greg Anderson continues to lead Pro Stock with teammate Jason Line now challenging Kurt Johnson for second place.
